Semaphore Releases SCADA RTU Redundancy Technical Brief
LAKE MARY, FLORIDA – November 2, 2010 – Semaphore,
a CSE Global company, has released a technical brief, which describes the implementation of redundancy in Kingfisher
SCADA system RTU products.
While today’s RTU products and SCADA systems are very reliable, higher availability designs are still required for mission-critical processes and systems in which downtime is very expensive. Semaphore’s Kingfisher Plus+ RTU provides three levels of redundancy in order to cost-effectively meet a range of availability requirements. The technical brief describes the three levels—power supply, processor and communications—and compares CP-30 redundancy with implementations in prior generation products. To download the brief go here.
The Kingfisher Plus+ RTU is based on an advanced, automation technology platform for SCADAapplications. Kingfisher is the only RTU line that features an embedded programming environment that is compliant with both IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 as well as an enhanced DNP3 protocol suite, security platform, complete array of communications networks and advanced functionality including redundancy.
Semaphore’s RTU products are ideal for a broad range of monitoring and control applications in the broadcast / telecom, infrastructure management, oil & gas, power, transportation and water / wastewater industries.
